The Second Degree of the Order, the Moose Legion, is the Service Degree. Since it's beginnings, the Moose Legion has always strived to work for the betterment of the Loyal Order of Moose while having fun in the process. The Moose Legion works to support Mooseheart and Moosehaven and any other worthwhile project of the Moose. The quarterly celebrations are a time of fun and fellowship for Moose Legion 82 where new candidates are enrolled, business is discussed, and Moose Legionaires gather. Salem 2573's Moose Legion prides itself on supporting our Lodge in ongoing projects of community service and service to the order. The Moose Legion Degree is necessary in order to advance to the Higher Degrees of Fellowship and Pilgrim.
To become a member of the Moose Legion you must meet certain requirements. You must be a Moose member for six months and sign and enroll 3 new members or be a member for one year and sign and enroll 1 new member. After meeting these requirements you will be invited to join this higher degree by receiving letter from Moose International. Upon receipt of this letter you will need to approach any Moose Legion member to be sponsored into the Higher Degree.
It is the obligation of every Moose member to strive to advance in the fraternity and this is the first step. Moose Legionaires are responsible for serving our fraternity, our association, our district, our Moose legion, adn most of all our children and senior. It was the Moose Legion who raised the money to start our two most important fraternal institutions of Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
