Community Service
Salem Moose Family Center 2573
The Family Fraternity
The Loyal Order of Moose and Women of the Moose are community service based organizations. Salem Lodge 2573, though a very young lodge, prides itself in the amount of service to our community we provide. This includes fundraisers for those in need, support of various community organizations including: The Alzheimer's Association (we helped the Alzheimer's Association raise $31,000 by hosting the 2004 Memory Walk), The Second Harvest Food Bank, Roanoke Rescue Mission, American Red Cross, and anywhere the need arises.
We also support the "Tommy Moose" program (we have presented these to the Roanoke County Police Department, Roanoke City Fire Department, as well as The Salem Wesleyan Church for a Guatemalan Children's Relief Effort ), Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment fund, and Moose Charities.

The Virginia Moose Association sponsors many community service projects including: Mooseheart and Moosehave Endowment Fund, The Massey Cancer Fund, Virginia House, Special Olympics, Spionza Bear, Moose Youth Awareness, Scouting, Yellowstone YCC, and many, many others. This past year the VMA with the help from all lodges in Virginia contributed over $10 million for these and many other community service programs.

Our lodge has continued to receive quarterly Superior ratings for our community service. We contribute to our community through money raised, hours worked, and miles driven. This is an outstanding feat for a lodge with our membership numbers.

If you would like to contribute to any of the causes mentioned above by giving money, or time, please contact:
